Weekend in Boston

From the photos below you can see we went to Boston for the weekend.
Just for fun this time, not for any work. We spent both the nights at
Chris and Becky's place in Holliston with them and their three
gorgeous children - Caleb, Leah and Josiah. We had a lovely weekend.

We arrived late on Friday night after getting the bus up from NYC and
then renting a car in Boston to drive out. I wimped out of driving up
from NYC as it was forecast to snow on both the Friday night and also
on the Sunday night.

We had a great chat on friday night, then on Saturday we went for a
lovely walk in the snow covered parks on the outskirts of Boston. In
the afternoon we went iceskating. We are not too good at iceskating
yet, but didn't fall over at all. I rented a pair of hockey skates
which were a little different from normal skates. Good fun once I got
used to them.

That night we went back to Chris and Becky's place for dinner and some
games of cards. Lots of fun.

Nice dusting of snow overnight made everything look very pretty in the morning!

Bit of fun in the morning. We had left the tiny map reading light on
in the car by mistake, and in the cold temperatures it had drained the
battery completely. Fortunately Chris had jumper cables, and we were
off in no time.

On Sunday we went into Boston and looked around at fenway park (home
of the red sox baseball team), had a pizza lunch at Regina's Pizzeria
(reported to be the best in Boston), braved the snow and rain for a
walk on Boston common, and went to the Cheers Bar (the bar in Beacon
Hill which was the inspiration for the TV series Cheers).

Then we went and dropped the car off and hopped on the bus back to
NYC. Currently on the bus back now. Yep - you definitely see a lot of
curious people on the Greyhound buses around America!!!

Vesna is having a snooze - it has been a busy couple of days. Should
be a pretty busy week at work as well, which should be good.

Check out some of the photos below!

Hey mate...

Good to see you tried out "real skates" I didn't know the other kind actually qualified as skates :) Now for the real question - did they give you a stick as well - A fair dinkum hockey player can't really skate without one. I'm not sure if it is for the balance or just the security of carry a deadly weapon. Sounds like it was a bit of fun...
